What is the recommended way to install a 12VHPWR cable?

This guide applies to all 12VHPWR cable installation for both the GPU and PSU sides, and regardless of where you buy the 12VHPWR cable from.

First, you should do a visual check on the cable to make sure there is no physical damage or loosen pin. If there is any damage on the cable, do NOT use it and contact the vendor to replace it.



You should straight plug the cable into the connector on GPU/PSU. Plugging in the angled way may reduce the contact surface and possible deformation of the GPU/PSU slot.



When plugging or unplugging the cable, do NOT pull the wire. Please plug and unplug by holding the connector.



You must make sure the connector is 100% fully inserted with zero gap between the 2 connectors. You should make sure the retention clip is engaged. If the connector and retention clip is fully engaged, the cable is definitely fully seated.



You should leave enough space for the 12VHPWR cable to bend.
