Tax ID requirements for certain countries

For shipments to certain countries (e.g. Brazil, Chile, Mexico), a Tax ID is required by the customs of the destination country.

Brazil (CFP/CNPJ)

A Tax ID is required by the Brazil customs for all personal/business shipments to Brazil.

Personal Tax ID (CPF No)

• Portuguese: Cadastro de Pessoas Físicas
• English: Natural Persons Register
• No Format: XXX.XXX.XXX-XX (11 digits)

Business Tax ID (CNPJ No)

• Portuguese: Cadastro Nacional de Pessoas Jurídicas
• English: National Registry of Legal Entities
• No Format: XX.XXX.XXX /XXXX-XX (14 digits)

Mexico (RFC)

A Tax ID (RFC No) is required by Mexico customs for all personal/business shipments to Mexico.

• Spanish: Registro Federal de Contribuyentes
• English: Federal Taxpayers Registry
• Format: Typically 13 characters (for individuals) or 12 characters (for businesses), combining letters and numbers.

Chile (RUT)

• XX.XXX.XXX-X (9 digits)
