How to apply Honeywell PTM7950?

Here are some of the reviews and installation demos of Honeywell PTM7950.

The Ultimate Guide For Repasting ASUS Zephyrus G14 (2023)

50mm x 31mm of Honeywell’s PTM7950 (obtained from MODDIY). For total system performance I used 3DMark TimeSpy and it showed an increase of 5.1% in 3DMark score with 19.6% and 3.0% for both the CPU Score and Graphics Score, respectively. Which is a win in my opinion.

My 6900xt Nitro Thermal Control Journey

I couldn't believe how good the results were. Hot spot dropped around 20°C and the fan speed doesn't go above 50%! This thing is quiet compared to before! I've been running BG3 for the past couple hours and the temps are rock solid at 78°C, 90°C hot spot. Out of curiosity, I set the fan speed to 70% while running BG3. I was getting 58°C and 70° hot spot! I guess it helps when the heat can actually leave the die lol. Since this is PTM7950, I only expect the temps to keep getting better with more heat cycles. Anything that's bare die is getting PTM from now on! Thanks for reading! 0.25mm from MODDIY

Finally here! MODDIY

PTM7950 Results

Finally here, from MODDIY - presenting PTM7950 pad... On ultra settings at 2K resolution, I’m getting 67 degrees celsius on the CPU and 65 degrees celsius on the GPU while getting a stable 105-115 FPS. This is online, I get about 20-30 extra fps on story mode

Honeywell PTM 7950 is the truth

I ordered the Honeywell PTM7950 thermal pad off MODDIY. It came in today, got it put in and Holy shit what a difference! When playing games like fortnite now my temps are easily 10 to 12°C cooler (I use a laptop stand to let the fans breathe)

PTM7950 on an RTX3080 SUPRIM X : a success story

I went with MODDIY, bought the 50x31 mm that would allow me to paste it twice in case I would mess up badly.. Results : You can see for yourself in the pictures… Improvements across the board during a 3D Mark Port Royal stress test. Of course they are all linked to the lower GPU temp which allows to increase the GPU clock and reduce the fan speed. By the way, this is the very first run. Which would be the worst case for PTM as the burn-in is not complete yet.

Slowed down thermal throttling on Dell XPS 9570 (without undervolting!)

I went from around 89c down to 77c when benching with XTU. All I did was change the thermal pads.

Repasted my Decks SOC with a PTM7950 pad and temps dropped 7-10c

After installing the thermal pad and running the game again same settings same place for 10 minutes temps went down to 75-77c. The temps are 7-10c cooler running cyberpunk 2077 as well. The most important thing for me is the fan is quieter since the temps are lower which is a big plus. I'm happy with how it turned out.

Repasted G14 6700S with PTM7950 and K5 PRO

Before (w/ Liquid Metal): Temps GPU High 96c / CPU 88c / Junction 101c. After (w/ PTM7950 and K5 PRO): Temps GPU High 78c / CPU 72c / Junction 80c

Results of PTM 7950 On Blade 18 4090.

Temps went down from avg 82c (Max Fan Mode - Synapse Custom)all the way down to 72c in the same mode.I can now do Synapse Custom High mode without max fans and it stays much quieter and still averaged 76c.Idle temps went from 68-75c to 55-60c. I can regularly get 23k and average 22.8k or so on GPU Score with average temps of between 57-60c. I used PTM 7950 from MODDIY.

PTM 7950 significant temp reduction.

I decided to get some PTM 7950 from MODDIY (40mm by 40mm). Idle temps dropped at least 20 degrees. Temps in Valorant came to be around 60 degrees with little to no fluctuations. Could barely hear the laptop fans, and glad that I now have more thermal headroom.

Legion Thermal update

I do use IETS GT500 to keep the temperature down especially during these hot European summers, but after the re-paste and new pads, it has never reached higher than 76-77 °C (gaming with Youtube music and tons of Firefox tabs open). It is now also is stable at 34-36°C while browsing + Youtube/Netflix and doing paperwork.

Just did a full repaste and battery replacement of my 2021 G14 and it's awesome!

So I ordered the PTM7590 (the original stuff from MODDIY). My idle temps in Quiet mode are stable at 37°C, battery life is a whopping 10+ hours and even the performance improved! I've been playing Delta Force and could only run it on Medium Settings as the High Settings would only yield choppy 16-20 FPS. Jumped into the game, set it to High and got a great stable Performance with FPS easily over 30 (can't know for sure as there is no FPS overlay) with temps never going above 85°C. I loved the Laptop before but now it's a whole different beast! I've been thinking of getting a Macbook just to have some more battery life etc, but now? Forget it! I'm just so thrilled right now and really want to share, it feels like a brand new laptop - the PTM7590 is doing an awesome job!

PTM7950

Each of my devices temps have improved, Win Max 2 1080P high settings temps would go up to 80-90 now they stay around mid 70. Win Mini mostly stays under 70 when gaming at 20 TDP. My G1 doesn’t sound like a jet engine when gaming. Over all really happy with the results, curious if I will get better results once the PTM7950 bakes in. I order my PTM7950 from MODDIY.com

TIM change - PTM 7950 thermal pad results on my 5700xt Nitro+ SE

I decided to take the plunge and order myself a slice of this thermal interface material from MODDIY. With the Honeywell 7950 TP in place, my GPU temperature saw a drop from 72°C to 69°C, but that's not all; the hotspot temperature went down from a toasty 97°C to a much more comfortable 90°C. What's even more impressive is that I achieved these lower temperatures with the fan running a whole 10% slower than before. In conclusion, I must say that my investment in the Honeywell 7950 TP thermal paste was well worth it. While its application requires a bit more attention, the performance gains and temperature reductions I achieved speak for themselves. If you're on the fence about trying out a new thermal paste, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a shot. It might just be the upgrade your rig needs to keep those temperatures in check and your gaming sessions running smoothly. Cheers to better thermals!

Repasted 2021 Best Buy G15, 3070 GPU with PTM7950

I ordered it last week from MODDIY (80mm 40mm) and it arrived today. When gaming on turbo the fans were quieter overall and I’d even hear them slow down! CPU maxed at 83 and the GPU maxed at 78. This was playing GTA V at 4K on my TV as well! I highly recommend this thermal pad! And I think I have enough leftover for my desktop GPU as well. I applied some to my desktop CPU (AMD 7900X) and gained about 10C when gaming.

PTM 7950 review

Holy sh*t guys, i have to say i cant believe what this think can do. I got a Late Model LCD, people Said that this Revision has good thermal Paste, But i just installed it and dropped from 83degrees on the CPU to a Max of 72 in Zelda totk. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up that its totally worth it. Also dont buy fakes, get it from MODDIY.
